| December on the Lower Derwent | |||
| In December of 2006 I decided to fish on the Lower Derwent on a regular basis to see if the quality fish still fed in mid winter. On occasions the river was in flood but I still decided to try my luck and as the following photos show I was quite successful. Even though I only averaged two fish per visit some of the sessions only lasted a few hours. | |||

| On the 11th December I decided to fish with two rods and managed to catch chub as well as barbel by trying different baits. The next photograph shows quality chub as well as barbel that I caught on that day. | |||

Report by Alan Booth |
|||
A note from the Fisheries Secretary It is important, especially in the case of a pollution incident, that catches such as these are reported and whenever possible photographs taken. Such information is vital if DCAC need to build a case against polluters as well as being good publicity for the club so that new members can be recruited to the Lower Derwent section. Any such reports do not need to include peg numbers or baits if you wish to keep them secret. |
