Tim Pickering has shattered the DCAC Club Record for a specimen Barbel.

I often browse the DCAC website and am always interested in stories of other peoples catches.  This is why I thought I would share the details of the fish I caught today (3rd September 2008) - a magnificent specimen barbel of 15lbs.

I have attached a couple of  pictures of this fish for your perusal.  These pictures were taken by another DCAC member Bryan Stephenson.  I don't know if it is a club record, but I still feel it is a fish worthy of a mention on the club website!

It was caught on the Lower Derwent at Borrowash (I would prefer not to mention which peg!)during a short afternoon session.  I also caught 8 other barbel between 7lb to 11lb, plus a reasonable chub.

I think this goes to show what a fantastic water the Lower Derwent is - even if it hasn't the notoriety of the Trent.  I have also caught quite a few carp to the upper teens and I am positive that some twenties are lurking in these waters!

I hope this has been of some interest to you, thanks for running a great club which allows me to catch so many brilliant fish.
