Photograph shows 9lb 2oz barbel from the Lower Derwent early November 2005. It was caught by a guest, I took Glyn Williams, NFA Coach Development Manager.

Until now he hadn't caught a barbel over 5lbs. It was caught using Strike-One soft pellets, on a Milo 1.25lbs test curve avon rod and 8lb line. The river was up a few feet in flood, but fished well as he also had a 7lb fish.
