Small Island
Please note: Members wishing to fish from island at downstream end of fishing should wade across to it at the point where the stream is divided into two channels (near the old mill ruin). Members must not walk further downstream than the old mill on the east bank, as this is the boundary of the Club's fishing, but they can cross to the island at this point and fish from the west bank of the island only. The fishing between the old mill ruin and Crowdecote Bridge on the east bank is privately owned. The main section of bank opposite ours is managed by Prince Albert Angling Society.
Fishing the Dove at Crowdecote

The River Dove here is a small stream, sometimes very shallow and clear. A small rod with a light line is best. Small dry flies will often rise fish in the pools but some lies are under trees and difficult. Rises are fast and good reflexes are needed.

The trout are fairly small, wild and easily spooked. It is best not to wade if possible.

Access is not easy to parts of this water and wellington boots will leave members more mobile than waders, which are usually not necessary.
