This water is stocked with 10” brown trout to supplement the wild fish. The take-able size of trout on the River Dove at Wolfscote Dale is
ten inches.
If you catch a fish, which is
spot marked with dye or tagged, please give details of the markings and tag number when reporting your catch.

5 Rod Limit There is a rod limit at this water and full details for booking in and catch returns are given in Appendix 6
6 Guests Guests are allowed and a guest ticket must be completed and returned.

7 Members’ Children / Grandchildren A member’s child/grandchild may accompany the member to fish subject to conditions contained in Rule 10 ‘Members’ Children/Grandchildren.
8 Wading Wading when fishing is not allowed, but members may wade across the river to reach and fish from the opposite bank. Members must be particularly careful not to damage the weirs.
9 Parking Vehicles should be parked in the small field through the wooden gate on the right of the approach road approximately 50 yards before reaching the ford and footbridge. The locking box on the gate can be opened with the checking station key. This gate must be locked before going to fish and when leaving site. There is a checking station in the car park.
10 Other users Wolfscote Dale is frequented by walkers and members fishing the Derbyshire bank should be careful when casting near the track. There is no public footpath on the Staffordshire bank but some parts of the Staffordshire bank are quite difficult to negotiate.
11 Limits of Fishing Fishing starts at the Beresford footbridge and continues downstream on both banks for approximately two miles. The downstream boundary on the Derbyshire bank ends two weirs upstream of the stone wall where Wolfscote Dale meets Biggin Dale, and the downstream boundary on the Staffordshire bank ends three weirs upstream of that wall.
Wolfscote Dale is a Site of Special Scientific Interest and great care must be taken not to disturb wildlife when fishing here
