There are two parts of the Central Section
of the River Manifold |

(i) |
The Former Harpur Crewe water which is now
owned by the Club. This is one long stretch on the West bank. |

(ii) |
The ‘Sheldon House’ water, on
the East bank, which the Club leases from the owners. This comprises two
sections totalling approximately one and a quarter miles of single bank,
opposite some of the former Harpur Crewe water. One section is on the map
of the River Manifold - North and the other on this, Central Section, Map.
The section of the Sheldon House water on this map is on the east bank going
south from Brund Mill. |

When visiting the Sheldon House Water cars
may be parked at ‘Sheldon House’. Use the gate to the house
and not the farmyard. Park at the side of the house, on the left and at
the end of the drive, after closing the gate. Members should call at the
house on the first visit only and show their membership card to the owner. |

The take-able size of trout on the River Manifold is
ten inches |

Mode of fishing |
Type of Sport. Fly fishing for trout and grayling
during the appropriate seasons. This is mainly a wild trout and grayling,
small stream fishery although it is stocked with 10” brown trout
to supplement the wild fish
