David Holmes and I had a meeting at Carrilon and went on to pay our rent at Toft Newton for the season. We booked two rods for the afternoon and paid for a boat. I insisted that David was in charge of the boat and should row. David claimed that if he was in charge I should arrange a motor which I did. We had a super afternoon in the concrete bowl. There was a gentle breeze, a bit of sun and lots of rising fish. I caught three fish on the top and David had six, some on the top and some from the deep. |

We also tested a new boat seat for Rob Clarke of Carrilon. I found it quite comfortable and only let David sit on it for the picture. It folds and has a ratchet back. |

Two more club members, Ken Turner and Graham Christian were fishing from the bank and also caught fish. I know it's a long way for some of us but it made for an excellent day out. I can recommend it. Just phone Jason to book and look on his web site for advice on flies and the local weather forecast. Best wishes all. Mike Habbershaw |
