Thank you for your interest in joining Derbyshire County Angling Club. For 2009 the Annual Subscription will be £205. There is a one off entry fee for new members of £270, making a total cost of £475. The club season begins on the 1st April each year. If you make an application for the following season, we will hold over a guaranteed membership to start on 1st April of the following year upon receipt of:
Derbyshire County Angling Club offers what is probably the best selection of good coarse and game fishing in the country for a reasonable subscription. The Club provides members with exclusive coarse and game fishing in 26 different locations, on over 25 miles of rivers and over 350 acres of lakes and reservoirs. Game fishing includes the opportunity to fish for autumn and winter graylingand many of the Club's trout fishing venues are open during the Autumn and Winter. Fly-fishing for Trout, Grayling and Salmon: The Club has extensive fly fishing waters on the rivers Dove, Manifold and the Derbyshire Derwent with good mayfly hatches on all three rivers. The Club also has the fishing rights on Ogston Reservoir. Other lakes in the Club's tenancy or ownership are: Bishops Pool, Brailsford (4 acres) Hoon Hay, Hatton (6 acres) Coneygre Farm Lake (5 acres) and Widgeon Lake (7 acres) both at Hoveringham, Sutton Lake at East Retford (17 acres) and the new Willington fishery (20 acres) between Derby and Burton on Trent. All these waters are well stocked with either brown or rainbow trout or both. Many of the stillwater trout fisheries remain open all winter and grayling fishing can be enjoyed during the winter months on the rivers. The Club typically stocks around 12000 trout into its fisheries each season. Derbyshire County Angling Club also has fishing waters in Scotland ; owning a stretch on a salmon and sea trout river, The Aldbar Beat, on the river South Esk The Club also rents four rods on Ladybower Reservoir and Foremark Reservoir and two rods on the Dolgellau Angling Association which members can use free of charge, subject to certain conditions. Coarse Fishing: Coarse fishing enthusiasts in the Derbyshire County Angling Club can enjoy miles of excellent fishing on the rivers Derwent, Trent and Idle along with a superb coarse lake near Sawley and another 20-acre lake at Willington. Some really splendid fish, including specimen carp, barbel, bream, perch,tench, pike and chub, are caught each year on our waters. The Club has an annual coarse fishing match and a Fur and Feather match along with regular matches on the rivers Derwent and Trent and also on Willington and Wilne Lakes . There are also a number of trout fishing competitions. There are several social/instructional events during the year where members can meet each other and learn more about a particular water or brush up on their angling skills by listening to an expert. Club members are allocated six guest tickets each year. In addition members may take their children or grandchildren (under 16 and one child at any one time) without payment subject to conditions outlined in the Club's rules. The Club has private car parks on certain waters including some with locking gates. The Club is keen to attract sportsmen and sportswomen anglers.
