| Coarse Fishing Matches - Trophies and Rules | |||
| 1. | Match Fishing Committee The Match Fishing Committee will comprise all members of the Club Management Committee. This governing body shall meet when necessary to determine the rules and conduct for these events and take such action as is deemed to be necessary in connection therewith, including the authorisation of expenditure, and with the power to vary the rules and conduct for the event as may from time to time be necessary. The ruling of the Committee in all matters referred to it for consideration shall be final. |

| 2. | Dates and Venues All members will be notified of the date, time, venue and other arrangements to be made in connection with each event in the January Newsletter. Cheques and postal orders should be crossed and made payable to 'Derbyshire County Angling Club' and loose cash should NOT be sent. No responsibility can be accepted by the Club for entrance fees lost in the post, or applications which fail to arrive before the closing date. |

| 3. | Annual Fur and Feather
Match The Club hold an Annual Fur and Feather Coarse Fishing Match in October. Details of the Fur and Feather Match including the venue, date and time, entry and sweepstake fees, etc., are notified to all members in the January circular. Prizes awarded in this event consist of seasonal fare purchased out of entry fees received, and donations of cash or prizes contributed by members. The winner of this event will be presented on the day with the 'G. N. Bright Memorial Cup', and the runner-up will receive the 'M. Lascelles Rose Bowl' |

| 4. | Annual Match Cups The winning competitor and the competitors who take second and third places in each annual event will be presented with the following cups, and may retain the cups for one year only:- |

| 1st. Prize | The D. G. Gilman Cup | ||
| 2nd. Prize | The John F. Hall Cup | ||
| 3rd. Prize | The Derwent Cup | ||
| 4th. Prize | The R.S. Presley Shield | ||
| 5. | The Osprey Shield will be awarded to the competitor who weighs-in the heaviest individual qualifying fish at the end of the contest. | ||
| 6. | The Alan Salisbury Memorial Trophy is awarded to the winner of the September match on the River Trent at Willington. | ||
| 7. | The entry fees received for the competition will be presented as cash prizes to the winner and runners-up in the match. | ||
| 8. | Optional Pools will be held on the day of the contest before the match commences, and the pools payout will take place at the end of the match. | ||
| 9. | The presentations of the cups, shields and prizes will be made at the Club's Annual General Meeting. Winning competitors will be expected to attend the meeting to receive their awards or nominate a member who will be attending to receive them on their behalf. | ||
| 10. | The holders of the cups and shields may retain them for one year only, and must agree:- | ||
| (i) | to return them in a clean and undamaged condition in time for presentation to the winning competitors of the following year's event, and | ||
| (ii) | to indemnify the Club against loss of, or damage to, the cups and shields whilst in their possession. | ||
| Competition Rules | |||
| 1. | The competition will be open to Ordinary, Extramural and Life Members of the Club and to their children or grandchildren under the age of 16 but over the age of 12. Members children or grandchildren will draw before the parent or grandparent who will occupy and fish the adjacent upstream peg) | ||
| 2. | Entrance fees to be fixed annually by the Committee. | ||
| 3. | The mode of fishing shall be confined to fishing with one rod and every competitor shall bait his own hook, strike and land his own fish. | ||
| 4. | Allotted lengths shall be numbered and staked prior to the match. Each competitor on receiving his number shall proceed to the corresponding peg number which shall be considered his fishing ground. The distance between 'pegs' will be at least 15 yards either side and competitors may float their bait as far as the next competitor's 'peg' but no further. | ||
| 5. | Any member of the Committee may search any competitor's tackle before the start of the match. | ||
| 6. | Any angler wishing to leave his peg must get permission from his neighbour. | ||
| 7. | The time of commencement of fishing will be given by signal and competitors must not on any account groundbait or bait the swim, but may plumb the depth and put keep nets in the water before the starting signal. | ||
| 8. | Any competitor arriving late shall report to the nearest official. | ||
| 9. | Every precaution must be taken to keep fish alive and returned to the water as carefully as possible after weighing. | ||
| 10. | At the signal to cease fishing every competitor must do so. | ||
| 11. | Every competitor who "weighs-in" should stay at his peg until "weighers-in" have passed him. | ||
| 12. | Any suspicious fish shall not be weighed in. | ||
| 13. | Any bait normally used for coarse fishing is permitted except live dead or artificial fish and spinning baits or lures. | ||
| 14. | All fish shall count for weighing except trout. | ||
| 15. | Any dispute arising during the competition must be referred to the Club Chairman who shall exercise his discretion in such matters and if necessary refer them to the Committee for a decision. If an important dispute arises regarding the conduct of a competitor, or competitors, or the issue of prizes, the Club Chairman may withhold payments or the awarding of prizes pending an opportunity for the Committee to consider the complaint. Disputes or complaints cannot be entertained after the contest has closed. The ruling of the Committee in all matters referred to it for a decision shall be final. The Club Chairman shall also have the power to disqualify any competitor who misconducts himself or contravenes these rules during the contest. | ||
