| CLUB RULES - General Series | |||
| 1. | Club Title The Club shall be called 'Derbyshire County Angling Club'. |
||
| 2. | Membership Applicants for membership must be proposed and seconded by two existing Club members. No one shall be eligible for membership unless he or she has attained the age of 16 years. |

| Classification | |||
| (a) | All New Members shall join the Club as Extra Mural Members. Extra Mural Members enjoy full membership except for full voting rights at Annual Meetings of Ordinary Members and Special Meetings of Ordinary members. | ||
| (b) | Ordinary Members. Members may apply to become Ordinary Members, with full voting rights, after ten years of continuous full membership. Application should be made to the Club General Secretary. It is expected that applications for Ordinary Membership would have an acceptable disciplinary record and be willing to support the Club. | ||
| (c) | Life Member - to be any person elected to life membership of the Club by the Management Committee. Non-members elected to life membership shall not pay the entrance fee or annual subscription. Existing members elected to life membership shall cease to pay the annual subscription. Life members shall remain life members at the discretion of the Management Committee. Life members shall be either Ordinary Life Members or Extramural Life Members, whichever is the appropriate classification as defined in items (a) and (b) above, and shall be subject to the same rules and entitled to the same privileges as those which apply to the particular classification of membership to which they belong. | ||

Club Management | ||
| (a) | The Club may have an Honorary President and Vice-President. The Club shall be governed by a Management Committee consisting of the Chairman, General Secretary, Fisheries Secretary, Treasurer, Publicity Officer and Bookings Officer (Scotland), Fisheries/Sites Maintenance Officer, Competitions Organiser, Game Fisheries Representative and the occupants of other posts as shall be determined by the Annual Meeting of Ordinary Members or Special Meeting of Ordinary members. A Committee Member will be elected as Vice Chairman by the Committee at their first meeting after the Annual General Meeting of Ordinary members. |

| (b) | The Management Committee shall be elected by and from the Ordinary Members at the Annual Meeting of Ordinary Members. | ||
| (c) | Election of Extramural Members to serve on the Management Committee shall be by nomination by Extramural Members only and shall take place at the Annual General Meeting, and such election shall be by vote of Extramural Members only who are present. | ||
| (d) | Nominations from Ordinary Members for election to serve on the Management Committee, and from Extramural Members to serve on the committee respectively, may be submitted in advance or on the night of the Annual Meeting of Ordinary members, as appropriate, and the persons so nominated should normally be present at these meetings. | ||
| (e) | Powers and Duties of Management Committee. This governing body shall supervise and control all affairs of the Club and can make rules for good government. The Committee may co-opt persons whose knowledge, experience or special interests could benefit the Club, but such persons will not have voting rights at Committee meetings. | ||
| 4. | Meetings | ||
| (a) | The Management Committee shall meet whenever called upon to do so by the Chairman. Four elected members shall form a Quorum. | ||
| (b) | The Annual Meeting of the Management Committee shall be held during September. | ||
| (c) | An Annual Meeting of Ordinary Members shall be held during October, the notice to be sent out one month before the date of the meeting. | ||
| (d) | The Annual General Meeting shall be held before the end of the calendar year, the notice to be served by the General Secretary not less than fourteen days before the date of the meeting. | ||
| Annual General and Special General Meetings. The privilege to vote at these meetings to be restricted to Ordinary Members only and 30 Ordinary Members shall form a Quorum. | |||
| Special Meetings. A special general meeting shall be called by the General Secretary on a requisition to be signed by 50% of the Ordinary Members of the Club. The notice convening the meeting shall be sent out by the, General Secretary within seven days of the receipt by him of the requisition, shall state the object of the meeting, and no other business shall be transacted at the meeting. | |||
| 5. | Subscriptions (Subject to annual review) | ||
| (a) | Ordinary and Extramural Members - shall pay an entrance fee of £250.00 plus a subscription of £190.00 on enrolment, but for subsequent years of continued membership shall pay only the annual subscription fee in the amount fixed by the Club | ||
| (b) | Payment of Subscriptions. The full annual subscription and entrance fee shall be paid immediately on joining the Club and subsequent subscriptions should be paid not later than the 1st. March each year. An additional charge of £50.00 will be added to the annual subscription fee for late payments received after 1st March. | ||
| 6. | Finances |

| 7. | Club Activities In addition to paying their entry fee and annual subscription all members of the Club will be required to attend not less than one working party organised by the Club each year if called upon by letter to do so. Members who fail to attend one working party in the year if requested to do so may have their membership terminated by the Management Committee at the end of that year, and no rebate of entry or subscription payment will be made. If it is not convenient for members to attend a working party on a particular date when requested to do so they should inform the Fisheries Secretary before that date, and he will arrange for them to attend another working party during the year on a date, which is convenient to them. |

| Attendance by members at the restocking of
Club waters will qualify as attendance at working parties. The following may apply for exemption from working parties if they wish to do so: |
|||
| i. | members who are old age pensioners, or who suffer permanent ill health or physical disability; | ||
| ii. | members who, by virtue of their efforts in other directions, bring significant benefits to the Club and to members generally; | ||
| iii. | members who are skilled craftsmen or tradesmen who offer their services to the Club free of charge in connection with any work of a specialised nature; | ||
| Members who qualify for inclusion in the exempted categories (i), (ii) or (iii) above will be asked to inform the Club in an annual pro-forma of the reason for their exemption, so that they are not asked to attend working parties. | |||
| 8. | Rod Booking and Catch
Return System Full details of where rod limits apply, and how the numbers of rods are controlled, are to be found in APPENDIX 6. |

| 9. | Guest Tickets For details of how and where to use guest tickets, see APPENDIX 6. | ||
| (i) | Six guest tickets are included in the Club membership cards. Each ticket is valid for one guest only, at one water only, on one day during the appropriate season when the fishery is open. (Members may take one or more guests, up to a maximum of six, to fish club waters on anyone day, subject to sufficient rods being available in the case of those waters where a limit applies to the number of rods permitted to fish at anyone time, and providing a guest ticket is completed for each guest taken. A guest ticket must be completed when taking a guest to any club water, including the Club’s coarse fisheries other than the Lower Derwent – Borrowash to Sawley - and the River Idle. A guest ticket must however be used if taking a guest night fishing on the Lower Derwent. | ||
| (ii) | Guest tickets must be completed in ink BEFORE guests start to fish. Guest tickets completed in pencil will not be valid. Guest tickets are not transferable and no member is allowed more than a maximum of six guest tickets in any year. Members will be responsible for their guest's conduct, behaviour and compliance with Club rules. | ||
| (iii) | Any fish caught by the guest shall be deemed to have been caught by the member and will be counted against the member’s catch. | ||
| (iv) | Guest tickets must not be used to take persons under 16 years of age, who are not members' children or grandchildren, to fish any Club water in view of legal liability of the Club for their safety and welfare. | ||
| 10. | Members' Children/Grandchildren | ||
| (a) | Under 16 Years of Age. Members' children/grandchildren under 16 years of age shall be permitted to fish the Club's local trout and coarse fishing waters without payment, subject to the following conditions:- | ||
| (i) | Only one child may accompany the member at anyone time. | ||
| (ii) | The child/grandchild of any member MUST be accompanied by the member AT ALL TIMES when fishing or visiting Club waters and under no circumstances will a member's child/grandchild be allowed to fish or visit Club waters unless accompanied by the member. | ||
| (iii) | A member shall be responsible for his/her child/grandchild’s conduct and safety and no liability will be accepted by the Club or the owners or lessors in the event of any accident or injury involving a member's child/grandchild while fishing or visiting Club waters. | ||
| (iv) | Any fish retained by a member's child/grandchild shall be deemed to have been caught by the member and will be counted against the member's catch. | ||
| (v) | In the case of waters where limits have been applied on the number of rods permitted to fish those waters, or certain bank areas, members' children/grandchildren may fish even if those limits are exceeded. | ||
| (vi) | Members may apply to the Club General Secretary for a Special Child's disc to enable their child/grandchild to accompany them and fish at those Club waters where a disc system controls attendances. | ||
| (vii) | Members may take a child who is not their own child or grandchild provided that a) a letter from the child’s parent or guardian is sent to the general secretary giving permission and b) a passport photograph is sent to the general secretary so that a club identity card can be issued for that child. The member may still only take one child at a time to fish. | ||
| (b) | On Attaining 16 Years of Age. On attaining the age of 16 years the children/grandchildren of any Club member shall be eligible for membership and may exercise either of the following options:- | ||
| 1. | Immediately enrol as full members on payment of the entrance fee and annual subscription in the total amount applicable at that time, or | ||
| 2. | Pay the entrance fee on an instalment basis and be permitted to accompany the parent/grandparent member and fish Club waters subject to the following conditions:- | ||
| (i) | That a fee of one quarter of the total entrance fee shall be paid to the Club annually for each child/grandchild for each of four years, until he or she has attained the age of 20 years, each payment to be regarded as an instalment on the full entrance fee. | ||
| (ii) | That in the event of the entrance fee being increased the payment to be made in the fourth year for each qualifying child/grandchild shall be the balance of the entrance fee applicable at that time. | ||
| (iii) | That in addition to the balance of the entrance fee remaining to be paid in the fourth year a member's child/grandchild shall also pay the full annual subscription for that year, and will then become and remain a full member of the Club for so long as he/she shall continue to pay the annual subscription in the amount fixed by the Club and observe the rules of the Club and the conditions governing conduct and fishing practices. | ||
| (iv) | That for the period during which instalments on the entrance fee are being paid by members' children/grandchildren , the conditions relating to members' children/grandchildren under 16 years of age as outlined in Rule 10 (a) (i) to (vi) inclusive shall apply. | ||
| (v) | Annual instalments under this arrangement shall be paid by not later than 1st March each year, and no refund either of the whole or of any part of the instalments shall be allowed by the Club at any time or for any reason. NB: Rule 10 (a) and (b) does not apply to the children/grandchildren of members' relatives. |

| 11. | Disciplinary Action The Club Management Committee shall consider all complaints concerning infringements of the Club's rules or of the conditions governing conduct and fishing and shall have the power to caution, to request a donation or to discipline members by suspending their membership for such period as is considered appropriate or by expelling them from membership with or without refund of payment and, after hearing the complaint and the evidence presented, the member having been given the right either to appear in person before the Committee to explain the circumstances or to send a letter of explanation for consideration, the Committee shall adjudicate on the matter, and alter arriving at a majority decision, shall communicate that decision to the member and such decision shall be final. |

| 12. | Vehicle Windscreen
Stickers Each year the Club issues a vehicle windscreen sticker to all members. A replacement sticker and plastic holder can be obtained on application to the General Secretary enclosing a S.A.E. |

| 13. | Liability No liability will be accepted by the owners, or by the Club, for any accident or injury caused or sustained by members, their children or guests when visiting or fishing any sites where the Club hold an interest in the property or in the fishery, and members, their children or guests who enter such property, or who visit or fish any waters administered by the Club, do so entirely at their own risk. Similarly, no liability will be accepted by the owners or by the Club for damage to, or loss of, any property brought by members, their children or guests when visiting or fishing any sites administered by the Club. |
